1971, Tahiti

Marie-Claude and Didier Millet settled in Tahiti partly by chance, and largely out of desire. They founded Éditions du Pacifique, named after the ocean that surrounds them, and published their first books: the Marquesas Islands, New Caledonia, and sea expeditions.

Didier was already familiar with Singapore. He would stop there on his way, back when the UTA "route to the Indies" still went through Changi.
