A palette of colors for breathtaking landscapes

As a master of watercolors, Fabrice Moireau takes us on an expedition through the enchanting landscapes of Brittany. With precision, he breathes life into his favorite sources of inspiration by painting old stones and coastal waters. As you turn the pages, you’ll delight in manors and intricately carved calvaries, granites, and churches.

A story accompanying each watercolor

Yann Queffélec needs no introduction, and the quality of his prose is well-known. His words beautifully complement the watercolorist’s sketches, transporting us into the history and culture of Brittany. The talented writer makes us feel the depth of this region, from its Welsh origins to its wild coast and prehistoric menhirs.

A watercolor album that inspires wanderlust

More than just a sketchbook, this work is an invitation to travel and discovery. From the Pointe du Raz to the Landes de Lanvaux, from the shores of the Gulf of Morbihan to the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, his paintings will captivate you. Let yourself be carried away by the beauty of Brittany, its moving landscapes, and its fascinating history.

Fabrice Moireau.

Fabrice Moireau, born in 1962, graduated from the National School of Applied Arts and Crafts. From his numerous travels, he brings back sketchbooks that serve as cultural and ethnographic testimonies. Passionate about architecture, gardens, and plants in general, his ambition is to convey, through watercolors, the subtlety of the play of light and the atmosphere of a street or landscape.

Yann Queffélec.

Son of the Brest-born writer Henri Queffélec, Yann Queffélec was born on September 4, 1949. His first book, a biography of the Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, was published in 1981. Following his highly acclaimed debut novel about the Algerian War, “Le Charme noir,” published in 1983, Yann Queffélec received the Goncourt Prize in 1985 for “Les Noces barbares,” a novel translated worldwide. He has since published forty works, including a biography of Eric Tabarly, and twenty-five novels. He is also the author of “Dictionnaire amoureux de la Bretagne” (Plon-Fayard, 2013) and “L’Homme de ma vie” (Guérin editions, 2015, Hussards Prize).

As a literary columnist for Le Nouvel Observateur, Yann Queffélec is also a member of the Writers of the Sea corps, founded in 2003 by Jean-François Deniau. Through his novels and narratives, Yann Queffélec scrutinizes the miseries and grandeur of the human comedy.
